B series is one of the pillars of the bass section of the ESP catalog. It offers a huge variety of electric bass guitars with modern design and modern tone. LTD side of the series is concerned with the beginner, lower intermediate and intermediate class entries. Among them, the B 405 SM is the best lower intermediate class option. It even has a super fancy spalted maple cap over the series standard swamp ash base. Top is carved and has no pickguard (both the series tradition and to show off the marvelous beauty of the spalted top). Five-saddled hardtail bridge with string-through-body construction is fronted by a pair of active EMG humbuckers (controls unit also contains a three-band EMG EQ). Five-piece maple/walnut neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
