The legend that rocks the world for sixty years, now comes renewed and strengthened to take on new challenges. This 2012 American Standard Precision Bass comes with an improved pickup section and other, mostly cosmetic changes. It is still a double cutaway bass with a solid body made of alder. The body features no top woods or binding. The standard white plastic is featured on four out of six color options. Olympic white and 3-color sunburst feature elegant tortoise pickguards. along with these, there are also black, candy cola, jade pearl metallic and charcoal frost metallic color options. They all come with gloss finish. The bridge is a high mass vintage fixed bridge with four saddles and chrome plating. Construction of the bridge can be either a top-load, or string-through. It depends on the player`s choice. In the pickups section, there is a P pickup in the middle position. It is Custom Shop '60s Precision Bass P pickup. It is controlled through master volume and master tone knobs. The neck is, as usual, made of maple and equipped with a C contour. This time, it`s a modern C. Neck joint is a four-bolt bolt-on. The fingerboard can be made of rosewood or maple, it is also up to player to decide. Either way, it features 20 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 9.50 radius and 1.625" wide synthetic bone nut. 34" scale, vintage tuners and chrome hardware complete the specs list. The MSRP for Custom Shop '60s Precision Bass is set at $1,649.99.
