Fender`s Select series is mainly concentrated on six-stringers, but it doesn`t mean that the basses are not allowed in the club. One of the finest basses in Fender catalog is the current Active Jazz Bass made for the 2013 edition of the catalog. This Jazz Bass comes with a solid, classically shaped double-cut body and it`s made of alder back with flamed maple top. Top is flat and has no binding around the edges. White plastic pickguard covers the standard portion of the top. There`s only one color option assigned to this model, it`s Tobacco Sunburst with high gloss finish. Bridge section on this model has two options. In both cases a vintage-styled high mass bridge is installed and the player gets to choose between the string-through and top-load construction types. Pickups on this model are Select series single coils made for Jazz Bass. They are active, as opposed to passive ones on 2012 Select Jazz Bass. Neck is made of maple and it features the modern C contour in the back. On it`s top Fender installs a standard 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. This model also has the compound 9.5"-14" radius.
