American Special series is a part of the American segment of the Fender catalog and it`s duty is to offer the most affordable models with American tag. These cost around $1,000 and are in the same position compared to American Standard and Deluxe, as are Les Paul special models compared to LP Standard and Deluxe. Models of this series feature modern construction, design and tone. They offer fantastic quality for the price. American Special Jazz Bass is a solid four-stringed bass with a flat-top alder body and bolted maple neck. It features 34" scale, offset waist contour, vintage tuning machines, passive electronics and 20-fret fingerboard. Four-saddled bridge is plated in chrome and in it`s front, Fender installs a middle-positioned P pickup. 20-fret rosewood fingerboard is installed on the top of a standard maple neck.
