American Vintage series deals with luxurious guitars and basses made after some of the most iconic models from Fender`s history. It`s models are being made of the best materials and by the best craftsmen Fender has. Also, only the finest appointments make it to the final specs list. The priority, of course is to present the historically accurate models with the best quality of build and tone possible. For 2013, Fender introduces four new models into the American Vintage series and '74 Jazz Bass is one of them. It is the only of four new models that features a choice between body and fingerboard materials. Body of this Jazz Bass is solid, double-cut and made of alder or ash. Ash is only used for Natural finishes. It`s flat on top and covered with a traditional pickguard. Bridge is a vintage one, and it features a cover over it. Pickups combo is made up of two single coil pickups. Master tone and two volume knobs comprise the controls unit. Maple neck is equipped with U contour and bolt-on joint. It is topped with a 20-fret fingerboard with medium jumbo frets and 1.475" wide bone nut. Fingerboard can be made of both the rosewood and maple.
