Fender`s basses usually feature 20 fret fingerboards made in two variants, rosewood and maple. Some of the special or signature models may have 21, 22 or even 24 frets. Usually, they are medium jumbo size and are marked with dots (black on maple and white on rosewood). On top of all this, Fender also offers the fretless fingerboards. Fingerboard on the Standard Jazz Bass Fretless is made of rosewood and it has fret position markers on it. Beneath it, there`s a C-shaped neck made of maple. It is bolted to the alder body. On top of the body, there is a hardtail bridge with four saddles and chrome plating. In its front, Fender installs a pair of single-coil (Jazz) pickups. They come with the standard controls unit.
