At the end of 1950s Framus introduced then brand new Star Bass. It quickly rose to prominence, mostly thanks to Bill Wyman of Rolling Stones who played it throughout the late 1960s. This bass gained world-wide popularity thanks to Wyman and his work with the stones. 5/150 Star Bass is a nod to the original Star Bass. It comes with a single cutaway body made of laminated flamed maple back and laminated maple sides and top. This is a rare body wood combination where sides and top match, the usual way is to match the back and sides. The top and back are bound in creme. The top also features a white plastic pickguard. The bridge on this model is made of rosewood. It `s fixed and accompanied by a trapezoid tailpiece. Pickups on this model are Framus vintage pair of single coils. They are controlled with master volume, bass, treble and a three-way toggle switch. The neck on this model is made of mahogany and it features a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it is equipped with 20 nickel silver frets with dot position inlays. Other features include short 30" scale, chrome plated hardware and gloss finish.
