A bass simply named BTB7 has been unveiled by Ibanez Guitars. It is settled in the popular BTB series of solid-bodied electric basses and it starts off as the premier model of the line. Six-string BTB models have been taken as a staring point and Ibanez added an extra string for more chording and soloing possibilities. Body of this amazing bass is solid, flat on top (with contoured edges) and made of maple wings with walnut top. Wings and the top are glued onto the neck (BTB7 features neck-through-body construction for the ultimate sustain and intonation). On top of the body, Ibanez installs one of their most advanced non-tremolo bridges, the Mono Rail IV. On BTB7, it has seven independent saddles, which allow each string to reverberate independently, thus creating a lot clearer tone. Bridge is, along with the tuners, plated in gold. BTB7 is equipped with two pickups. They`re both single coils and come with master volume, three-band equalizer, equalizer on/off switch and pickup balancer knob. Neck is made of seven layers of maple, bubinga and walnut. It features the BTB7 contour in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top.
