GSR is a sub-series of the GIO range based on the world-wide famous SR range models. GIO is a special segment of the Ibanez catalog, it is the home of the beginner and lower intermediate guitars and basses with Ibanez badge. For 2014, GSR is being updated with six new models and GSR205B is one of them. Solid and double-cut body of this five-string bass is made of mahogany in it`s entirety. As opposed to the SR series, upon which it`s based, GSR205B comes with a flat top body. It is paired with a typical three-piece maple neck with GSR contour in the back. Bridge section of this model features the simple and already well proven B15 five-saddled bridge. In it`s front, Ibanez installs the passive DXH pickups in H/H configuration. Controls unit is the same as on the GSR200B (four-stringed variant of this model). Maple neck is fit with a standard 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Medium-sized frets, dot inlays, 1.77" wide string nut and 12" radius are the most important features and measures of the GSR205B`s fingerboard.
