GSR205 FM is a new model introduced into the GSR line of affordable basses from Ibanez. GSR line belongs to a much larger GIO segment, which also encompasses the affordable guitar series. GSR205FM is one of the best five-stringers out there, when price and quality are compared. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made of agathis back and flamed maple top. Agathis is often used as a substitute to maple, alder and mahogany. This double-cut bass has modern cutaway design, with lower cutaway being very deep. This allows the player to reach the higher frets with ease. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features GSR contour in the back. It is overall a comfortable contour and it ends with a modern bolt-on joint. That means that heel is not too big, which also aids the playability. Fingerboard sports standard set of 22 medium frets with dot inlays. Pickups are Ibanez GXH-5 in both the bridge and neck position. Bridge is a standard one, it is B-10 with five saddles and chrome plating.
