Standard SR series, dubbed just SR is one of the most popular and longest enduring series of electric basses out there. Sound Gear range, since its blast off more than 25 years ago, went on to become a synonym for modern bass guitar with 24 frets and guitar-like playability. The formula is quite simple. A streamlined double-cut body is paired with a bolt-on neck with 34" scale and 24-fret fingerboard. Passive pickups (occasionally, there are variants with active pickups), stock Ibanez hardware and simple, modern styling are added to the mix. The end result is a well-balanced, good looking and more than good sounding instrument.
SR405QM is a 2016 SR model, introduced at the annual winter NAMM in Anaheim. It kicks off with a mahogany/quilt maple body and a maple/rosewood neck. The neck features the classic SR profile in the back and a rosewood fingerboard on top, which is a dream to play.
Electronics section boasts a pair of big PowerSpan humbuckers, 3-band EQ and coil tap function. The sheer range this setup is able to produce is quite staggering. Top-load Accu-cast B305 bridge and stock die-cat tuners keep it all nice and tight in the tuning and intonation area.
