Traditionally 500 tier models represent the middle class of SR Standard series (300 and 400 being entry level models and 600, 700 and 800 forming the upper class). They offer simple, no-frills design, top-quality construction and versatile tone.
New SR500 comes in with a solid and double-cut mahogany body (available in satin-finished Brown Mahogany and Sapphire Blue Flat) and standard jatoba/bubinga five-piece neck. The two are connected through a modern, recessed bolt-on joint (four-bolt joint). The neck is equipped with a fast and smooth SR4 profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (medium frets, abalone inlays, 1.5" nut, 12" radius).
Major electronics and hardware features include Accu-cast B300 bridge (hardtail), Bartolini MK-1 soapbar pickups (the most affordable SR with Bartolini pickups) and die-cast tuners.
