SR series is Ibanez`s four and five-stringed RG series. That`s in terms of importance, longevity and status, as both represent the bulk of the catalog in their respective segments and are the most recognizable Ibanez instruments. Also, they`re both best selling ranges in their respective segments of catalog. For 2016, Ibanez has introduced an entire host of SR models, heavily reinforcing the SR premium and regular SR lineups. SR505 is refreshed and revamped for this year`s season. Standard 34" scale, passive electronics and classic SR design are key features of this modest five-stringer.
SR505 is a solid and double-cut bass with carved top, bolt-on neck and full 34" scale. The body of this five-stringed axe is made entirely of mahogany (the highest ranking SR model, together with SR500, not to feature top cover) and sports the standard deep cutaway. Five-piece maple/rosewood neck rocks a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
Set of two Bartolini MK-1 soapbar pickups covers a huge scope of styles and genres, and has an extensive controls unit. Accu-cast B305 hardtail bridge and a set of five die-cast tuners keep this bad boy in tune.
