Ibanez SR series of solid bodied electric basses is at the forefront of the industry for 25 years now with their awe inspiring models. 1987 is the year when it all started, and now, in 2012 Ibanez introduces special anniversary model, which is available as both four and five-stringer. SR5XXV is a solid bodied, double cutaway bass with a body made of mahogany back and padauk top. The top features no binding or pickguards, whatsoever. Even the color option available for this anniversary model serves the purpose of accentuating beautiful wood patterns. Natural color with satin finish is Ibanez choice for this anniversary five-stringer. The bridge on this model is a five-saddle monorail with top-load construction and gold plating. In the pickup area Ibanez opted for massive, loud and extremely tight Nordstrand single coil pickups. They are controlled through master volume, balance, bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut and treble boost/cut knobs. Also, SR5XXV features two mini switches, mid frequency and equalizer bypass switches. The neck on this model is made of a luxurious combination of five pieces of wenge and bubinga. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it features 24 medium sized frets, abalone oval inlays, 12" radius and 1.77" wide string nut. Golden hardware, 34" scale and titanium reinforcement rods in the neck complete the specs.
