Ibanez SR Series exists for a quarter of a century. Quite an accomplishment in the world of instant stars, quick fame, and even quicker downfalls. The SR Series stood strong and brave in the face of time, and withstood the challenge. Now, in 2012, Inbanez introduces 25the anniversary model with both four and five strings to celebrate this jubilee.SR4XXV kicks off with a solid, double cutaway body made of mahogany back and padauk top. There are no bindings or pickguards on the top. The only color option available for SR4XXV is natural with satin finish. The bridge is a four-saddled mono rail with top-load construction and gold plating. In the pickup detpartment there is a pair of Nordstrand single coils. One in the bridge and one in the neck position. These pickups are big, loud and produce ultra heavy tone. They are controlled through master volume, balance, three-band boost/cut set of knobs and two mini switches. One bypasses the equalizer and the other is for mid frequencies. The neck is made of five pieces of wenge and bubinga and features an SR contour. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it sports 24 medium sized frets, 1.50" nut and 12" radius. 34" scale, golden hardware and titanium truss rod reinforcements conclude the specs list.
