JJ-335 is a solid and double-cut bass made by Johnson Guitars, It belongs to the fairly popular Catalyst series. Catalyst is the most modern bass line in Johnson catalog, with Viola and Scavenger being vintage basses. JJ-335 is the only five-stringer in the Catalyst series. There is also one four and one six-stringer. Body of this sleek five-stringer is solid, double-cut and made of the classic alder/maple combination. Alder is featured in the back, while the quilted maple cap is on the top. Gold-plated hardtail bridge has five adjustable saddles and it is fronted with a pair of powerful pickups. Bridge position has a humbucker, while the middle position is equipped with a single-coil pickup. Mahogany neck is bolted to the body and is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
