Quantum series is one of several lines in the Modulus catalog. Despite having a small line of models oriented exclusively on solid-bodied electric basses, Modulus is one of the brands that made history. Back in 1978, when Geoff Gould opened the Modulus in Palo Alto, he started making the basses with composite necks and fingerboards. Benefits of this type of construction proved to be substantial enough to see Modulus models keep on carrying the composite materials banner well into the 21st century. Quantum 5 is the most popular Modulus axe. It comes with a flat-top alder/maple body with a hardtail bridge and two soapbar pickups. Master volume and a three-band EQ comprise the controls. Carbon fiber neck is fast, smooth and has a 24-fret phenolic fingerboard on the top.
