As Fender`s subsidiary, Squier shares the catalog structure and series concept. Thus, the Squier`s Vintage modified series serves the same purpose as the Fender`s, which is to offer vintage-styled guitars and basses with a modern tone. For the summer of 2012 Squier unveils a pair of brand new Telecaster bass models to this already wide palette of models named Vintage Modified Series. Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass Special comes with a standard single cutaway body made of solid basswood. Slab-like body is stripped down with only pickguard left to shield the electronics area. Bridge section on this one is more modern than on the other Tele Bass from this series, this one is a hardtail with four saddles and top-load construction. Pickups on This Tele Special come with S/H configuration. Bridge pickup is Fender Designed single coil, while the neck pickup is Duncan Designed Wide Range humbucker. Master volume and master tone knobs are accompanied by a three-position blade switch with classic selection modes. Neck is made of maple and equipped with C contour on the back. It is topped with a maple fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets. Black dot inlays, 8.50" wide radius and 1.70" string nut complete the fingerboard. 32: scale, chrome hardware and gloss finish wrap up the story of Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass Special.
