Fortress is a line of popular electric basses made by Warwick`s Rockbass sub-brand. All Fortress models are made in China and from there distributed around the world. While the German-made Fortress series was discontinued couple-of years ago, Chinese Fortress four and five-stringers are still going strong. There are currently only two models in the series lineup and this is it`s only five-stringer. Fortress 5 is a solid and double-cut bass with a standard scale, bolt-on neck joint, black hardware and 24-fret fingerboard. Body of this affordable five-stringer is made of ash and is paired with a standard maple/ekanga neck. Two single-coil pickups and the basic controls comprise the electronics. 24-fret fingerboard installed on the top of the neck is made of rosewood.
