Fortress is one of many modern double-cut designs in Warwick`s catalog. It looks similar to the Corvette, Streamer and Thumb, but is somewhat less popular than them. Warwick is trying to launch it back to the top with a pair of Limited Editions which are being introduced at 2014 NAMM show. Fortress LTD 4 2014 is a solid and double-cut bass with four strings, bolt-on construction and flat-top design. Body of this exceptional four-stringer is made of swamp ash back and birdseye poplar cap on the top. This is one of the common combos in Warwick catalog, as swamp ash is Warwick`s favorite body wood. Regular two-piece Warwick bridge is installed on the top. Electronics unit features an interesting combination of passive Nordstrand single-coils and active MEC electronics with three band equalizer. Regular wenge neck is bolted to the body and is topped with a beautiful 24-fret fingerboard made of birdseye maple. Warwick tuners are installed on the headstock.
