However, there is a special market for super-versatile five and six-stringed basses, which can be used for a wide range of styles and genres of music. Sonus Custom 6 is one such model. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made of swamp ash back and maple top. Pickups combo is fit with two single-coil pickups to give this model more subtle and nuanced tone. Neck is bolted to the body and it is topped with a 24-fret phenolic fingerboard.
