16-B is a model from the Flagships series of jazz guitars made by Benedetto Guitars. This particular model is an electric archtop with vintage styling. It comes as one of the most affordable guitars in the series. B-16 is a single cutaway model and it features 2-1/2" body depth with 16" body width. B-16 is available in antique burst and opulent brown color options and both of them feature gloss finish. To contrast these darker tones of the body and ebony-made parts, Benedetto opted for gold-plated hardware and multi-ply binding made of black and white stripes. Body of this luxurious archtop guitar is made of either curly, or quilted maple. Also, depending on he availability, European and American maple are used. Top panel is made of carved spruce, also American or European, depending on the availability. Spruce top is arched and carved with a pair of "f" holes. Ebony-made fingerboard is installed upon this top. Bridge section is equipped with a standard Benedetto combo of ebony bridge and ebony trapezoid tailpiece. In the electronics department Benedetto A-6 active humbucker is installed in the neck position. Traditionally, there is no pickup in the bridge position. Controls for the neck pickup include master volume and master tone knobs. Neck on this model is made of flamed maple and it is equipped with a standard topping, the ebony-made fingerboard. The fingerboard is equipped with 22 frets, custom made 12th fret made of abalone, 12" radius and 1-3/4" wide string nut. Price for B-16 is set at $9,000.
