S3 is one of three models introduced into the electric guitars segment of boulder creek catalog. It is the only one with Stratocaster-like body. Other two are made in the shape of Telecaster. S3 comes with a a solid, double-cut body made of hard American ash wood. There is no binding around the top, nor Boulder Creek installs top wood cover on this one. There`s only a black plastic pickguard. Pickups on this model come in H/S/S configuration. Master volume, two tone knobs and a five-position blade switch complete the electronics unit. Bridge on this model is a vintage-styled tremolo with chrome plating and string-through construction. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features mild V contour in the back. On top, there`s a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
