X series is Cort`s primer metal guitar series. It`s models are uncompromising, heavy, brutal and mean looking. Also, one of their strong points is the price/quality ratio, where X guitars offer serious quality, while maintaining very affordable price policy. For 2014, Cort has introduced one update to this marvelous series, the brand new X-4. X-4 is a six-stringed guitar with a solid, carved body and bolted neck. It rocks the awesome Soloist/Superstrat shape with pronounced cutaway horns. Basswood is used for the body, while the neck is made of maple. This is the most popular combination in the lower intermediate section of the market, as these two tonewoods offer a high quality of tone and are very cheap. Plus, both maple and basswood are very durable and easy to work with. On the top, Cort installs a non-locking tremolo bridge with string-through construction and chrome plating. In front of this six-saddled trem bridge, there are two passive EMG humbuckers from the HZ tribe. Master volume, master tone with push/pull switch and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Maple neck is fast, comfortable and rocks the modern glossy finish. On it`s top, there is a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. It features jumbo-sized frets with offset dot inlays. Die-cast tuners on the headstock complete the specs list for this phenomenal six-stringer.
