while the X series deals with the Superstrat models in the budget-friendly and beginner segments, Z series takes on the same task, but with Les Paul-like single-cuts. This series is also one of the budget series, similar to Ibanez GIO range. Z40 is the opening model of the series and it features the most basic specs list. Solid and single-cut body is made of agathis and is paired with a maple neck. 24-3/4" scale, die-cast tuners, 22-fret fingerboards, fixed bridges and LP-styled control knobs point directly to the Gibson heritage and influence in this series. Strings run through the body behind the bridge and in it`s front, there are two passive humbuckers. Maple neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
