Michael Amott is the mastermind and the main axeman behind the Swedish (Swedish/Canadian/US) melodic death metal giants Arch Enenmy. Michael is a long-time Dean Guitars signature artist and, along with Schenker brothers, the biggest non-US name on the signature artist roster. His Tyrant line features sharp and pointy V guitars adorned with custom graphics of skulls and spilled blood. The brand new Michael Amott Tyrant - Battle Axe is a six-string metal guitar made for players who want the awesome Arch Enemy tone, but have a tight budget. Simple construction, passive electronics, high quality tonewoods and over the top custom graphics set this axe apart from the rest of sub $1,000 signatures out there. This affordable Tyrant features six-string construction (Michael Amott uses heavily down-tuned six-string guitars instead of regular seven-string options), set neck and string-through-body bridge. The body is made entirely of mahogany, while the neck is made of maple. C-contoured neck is fast, easy to play on and features a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Pearl Valknut inlays add that Norse vibe to the blood-stained battle axe theme. Electronics and hardware section features a pair of passive DMT Design humbuckers. Feisty delivery with boosted bass and scooped mids is perfect for both the crushing riffs and anthemic melodies Arch Enemy is known for. String-through tune-o-matic bridge and Grover tuners complete the specs list.
