SplitTail model, when better looked upon is actually a mix between two legendary Gibson models. The front part of the body is taken from the iconic SG model. A guitar that`s probably the most prominent hard rock and early heavy metal guitar. Back is taken from another legend, the classic V, also originally made by Gibson. This split-tail SG, or double-horned V in Dean`s rendition is one mighty beast. It`s body is made of mahogany and it features beveled edges around the top. Neck is made of mahogany, as well and it features V contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Dean USA Time Capsule humbuckers are installed on this model. Bridge section is equipped with a Floyd Rose double-locking bridge.
