Chicago is a brand new section of the electric guitars segment of Dean catalog. It consists of three series: USA Chicago, Chicago and Chicago Standard. All three offer replicas of the original Dean models from NAMM 1977 and the only difference is the level of luxury and decoration. Quality of tone and build is on supreme level for all three series. Some of the common features include the uniform color palette, pickups choice and neck construction. Name Chicago was chosen by Dean Guitars for in 1970s production took place in Chicago. V Chicago Standard is a stripped down variant of the USA V Chicago Flame model. It comes with a solid, V-shaped body made of mahogany. There is no top wood cover, nor Dean installs binding around the top. Bridge section is a standard one, it contains a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. There is no stoptail bar behind it. DiMarzio supplies Super Distortion pickups for this model. They`re featured in both the bridge and neck positions. V-contoured neck on this model is made of mahogany. It is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Grover tuners on the headstock complete the specs list.
