Epiphone Limited Edition ES-345 comes from a long line of very successful semi-hollow bodied models made by Epiphone. Limited Edition ES-345 has a laminated maple top and body. Classic double cutaway shape with an arched top is adorned with white binding and two "f" holes. Pickup department consists of two active humbuckers which are controlled through split volume and tone knobs and a three way toggle switch. Tune-o-matic bridge and Bigsby vibrato tailpiece have gold plating. Mahogany neck features slim taper contour and ebony fingerboard wih 22 medium jumbo frets and mother of pearl inlays. Scale measures 24-3/4" in length and plastic nut is 1.68" wide. It is available in ebony, alpine white and cherry color options. MSRP is set at $1165.

Some thirty five years ago I had a Gibson 345 ES, gigged every night with it and loved it. Due to finances I had to sell it. I recently got back to playing blues again professionally and have been trying out numerous guitars trying to replicate that 345 sound. Since I could not afford a Gibson I was excited when Epiphone rolled out this guitar. I purchased a new second a month ago and am blown away by the quality I got for the price paid. Tonal qualities are excellent. Neck, playability all top shelf. I have read reviews critical of finish and other poor workmanship but I did not see any of that in this China made beauty.
