Eclipse II QM, as a part of the Eclipse II series received new color options for 2012 and it now looks hotter than ever. Along with other ESP novelties, it was unveiled at NAMM 2012. Eclipse II QM is basically Eclipse II, but with quilted maple top. The carved top is paired with mahogany back and bound in white binding. color options include: reindeer blue, black aqua, amber cherry sunburst and see thru black cherry, all with glossy finish. Depending on the color option, two hardware plating alternatives are available, with amber cherry being the only one with chrome hardware. Others feature black nickel. The bridge section is made up of a stoptail bar behind a classic tune-o-matic bridge. Both are made by Gotoh. In the pickup department, situation is regulated by two active EMG humbuckers. Namely, EMG81 in the bridge and EMG60 in the neck position. They are controlled through split volume knobs, master tone control and a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck is made of mahogany with a thin U contour and a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and it sports 22 extra jumbo frets, flag position inlays and 1.65" wide bone nut. Gotoh tuning machines and 24-3/4" scale wrap the list.
