ESP`s exclusive FRX series is making its debut in the LTD segment in 2015. The initial two-piece lineup has been introduced at the winter NAMM in Anaheim, and FRX-401 is the series only six-stringer. It comes with a standard offset double-cut body with a modern carved top and very deep lower cutaway (this adds to the overall playability of the FRX-401). Despite the the carved top, entire body of this wicked FRX is made of mahogany. Snow White and Black are available color options and both feature glossy finish. Both options feature black hardware and both lack binding around the top, neck and headstock (this is due to the fact that this model belongs to the modest 400 tier where LTD sacrifices fancy decorations for playability and tone). Fixed LTD bridge with six saddles is featured on top, as are EMG`s 81 and 60 humbuckers (81 in the bridge and 60 in the neck). One volume knob, one tone knob and three-way toggle switch comprise the controls. Set thru maple neck rocks the well known thin U profile in the back. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard sits on its top. Offset dot inlays with the 12th fret name plate, molded string nut and side dot markers complete the fingerboard. Except the LTD logo, modern headstock on FRX-401 also features a set of six (three-a-side) Grover tuning machines.
