Since its introduction, FRX series has been reserved for the ESP side of the catalog offering only expensive versions. But, for 2015 ESP has prepared a two-model LTD FRX series with one six- stringer and one seven-stringer. Needless to say, FRX-407 has the 13th string, as well as the extended range pickups. Otherwise, these two feature identical specs lists. This means that the intermediate class FRX-407 comes with a solid and double-cut mahogany body with the standard FRX series carved top and offset waist design. Just like the 401, 407 is offered in Snow White and Black. Both options feature black hardware and glossy finish. Hardware segment is headed by a pair of ferocious EMG humbuckers in bridge and neck positions. Bridge position is fit with the 81-7 (seven string adaptation of the EMG`s most popular bridge pickup) and 707 is in the neck (pickup developed for seven-stringed guitars, not an adaptation of an existing humbucker). Maple neck is fast, thin and feels fantastic in hand. It is set thru and features the standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Set of seven Grover tuners installed on the headstock wraps the specs list.
