ESP`s TE series is there for all the players who like the classic Telecaster shape, but still want a proper metal guitar (classic Tele might be great for country, blues, punk and rock, but TE rules the realms of hard rock and metal). TE competes in the LTD class (ESP`s sub-brand of affordable guitars and basses) with great success, receives few updates on an annual basis. The reason for that is beyond us at chorder.com. However, things might start to change for the TE series in 2016, as three models are making their debut at the winter NAMM. TE-417 is a hardtail seven-stringer with a full 25-1/2" scale, active electronics and set-thru neck construction.
TE-417 kicks off with a solid and single-cut body made entirely of mahogany, and a three-piece neck made of maple. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot inlays, XJ frets and 1.89" molded nut covers the neck.
EMG 81-7 in the bridge and 707 in the neck position make up what can be easily named as the best set extended range metal pickups in the active segment. They`re controlled through a simple unit made up of one volume, one tone and a three-position switch. Seven-saddled hardtail bridge and Grover tuners are main features of the hardware segment.
