Viper series is based upon the legendary Gibson SG design, a design which started out by being rejected by Les Paul as the successor of the original LP model. It was renamed SG and it became an instant classic. Today, more than 50 years later, SG and SG-like models are mainly associated with hard rock and metal music. ESP`s Vipers are among the heaviest and meanest of them all. LTD Viper-407 is sold, double-cut model with a mahogany body, set in maple neck, 24-fret fingerboard and active electronics. Pickups combo consists of two EMG 707 humbuckers, which provide enough power to cause a minor earthquake. Maple neck is fit with ESP`s standard thin U contour in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top.
