Rory Gallagher was, and still is one of Ireland`s greatest guitar players ever. Together with Gary Moore and Phil Lynott, he is considered one of Ireland`s best rock musicians. His contributions to what will become virtuoso and shred playing in the late seventies and throughout the eighties are immeasurable. Rory was also one of the most prominent Stratocaster players and his modified 1961 Strat was an iconic instrument. This is the closest replica possible with today`s technology available to Fender`s Custom Shop division. It comes with an alder body with heavily worn 3-Color Sunburst paint job. Vintage tremolo bridge is plated in nickel and it features three single-coil (Abby hand-wound '50s) pickups in the front. Bolted maple neck is topped with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. Twelfth fret inlay is not a clay dot inlay, but a plastic one. Five Sperzel and one Gotoh tuner are installed on the headstock.
