Standard tier in Fender catalog consists of two sister series, Standard and American Standard. These two series form the criteria to measure all other Fender and Squier Stratocasters. American Standard is, however, ranked a bit above the Standard and is a bit closer to Deluxe and other exclusive series. Regular Standard, even though being ranked below the American Standard, still offers high quality instruments. Regular Standard models are also more affordable. For 2013 Musikmesse, Fender has prepared several new models for the regular Standard line and Standard Stratocaster Plus Top is one of them. Classic double-cut body is made of alder back and flame maple top. The flame maple top is available in Tobacco Sunburst and Aged Cherry Burst options. Both are finished in gloss. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a chrome-plated tremolo bridge with string-through construction. Standard series single-coil pickups are fit in all three positions. Pickups feature the standard controls unit. Maple neck on this model sports the modern C contour and it`s topped with a 21-fret fingerboard. Tobacco Sunburst has rosewood fingerboard, while the Aged Cherry Burst has maple fingerboard. 9.50" radius, 1.65" synthetic bone nut and dot inlays complete the fingerboard.
