Before Telecaster, there was a Broadcaster, a model that never bore it`s name in production. Just before the Broadcaster`s release, Gretsch sued Fender based on the name of the new model, and it resulted in Fender removing all name decals from Broadcaster production models. The model was subsequently dubbed "The Nocaster" and it`s four hundred and some copies are among the most sought after collector guitars. This is a tribute to the Nocaster. 1951 Relic Nocaster has a solid ash body with a flat top and no binding. The classical Tele "ashtray" bridge on this model is plated in chrome and has three saddles. Twisted Tele single coil pickups are placed both in the bridge and neck positions. They are controlled through master tone, master volume and a three position blade switch. the neck is made of maple and features an early 1950s U contour. This bolt-on neck is equipped with a maple fingerboard with 21 6105 frets and black dot inlays. Fingerboard also features 9.50 radius and 1.65" Micarta nut. The scale measures standard 25-1/2" in length. This model is available in blonde color with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. 1951 Relic Nocaster is part of the Fender exhibition at NAMM 2012. The MSRP for this model is set at $4,800.
