1961 marked the introduction of Telecaster Custom model. It had a standard body shape and double body binding, a feature previously unseen on Tele models. Ever since, the Telecaster Custom remained as one of the most popular variants. This 1961 Relic Telecaster Custom is an homage to the original from the '60s. it comes with a solid single cutaway body made of hand selected lightweight ash. This flat top model features a chrome plated Tele bridge with three saddles and the "tray" around the slanted bridge pickup. The other pickup is placed at the neck. Both of them are Twisted Tele single coils. They are controlled through master volume, master tone and three position blade pickup switch. The neck on this model is made of maple with early '60s C shape and a bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood and features 21 frets with 6105 profile, dot position inlays, 9.5" radius and 1.65" wide micarta nut. Other features on this model include: Fender/Gotoh vintage styled tuning machines, chrome plated hardware, white plastic pickguard and nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The MSRP for 1961 Relic Telecaster is set at $4,950.
