2013 Custom Collection from Fender`s Custom Shop brings ten new models. Mostly, these are replicas, closet and relic models. 1952 Telecaster is treated with Relic treatment, which means it is aged, played and looks and sounds as if it was really produced in 1952. Ageing process for Relic models includes paint ageing, hardware ageing and extensive playing to give the guitar the worn looks and played on tone. 1952 Relic Telecaster is a solid-bodied guitar with single cutaway and bolt-on neck joint construction. Top on it`s ash body is flat and features no binding around the edges. Also, there`s no top wood cover. Nitrocellulose lacquer finish is applied over CAndy Tangerine, Candy Melon and Aged Lake Placid Blue. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a classic Tele bridge with three saddles and string-through construction. The bridge, as well as the rest of the hardware, is plated in gold. Pickups are from the Twisted Tele series and are installed in S/S configuration. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls. Maple neck is bolted and equipped with V contour in the back. Maple fingerboard has 21 6105-sized frets with black dot inlays.
