American Elite is a brand new concept in Fender`s catalog. It was created for contemporary players who want classic looks with modern playability and tone. Instead of splitting the catalog in half like Gibson USA, Fender has opted for a new series. It kicks off with only four models, three Strats and one Telecaster. All of them come with modern 4th Generation Noiseless single coil pickups. The exception is the HSS Strat which trades the bridge single-coil for a Shawbucker humbucker. Construction-wise, all models have compound neck profiles, modern fingerboards and modern Fender hardware. American Elite Telecaster is both a beauty and a beast. It has all of the classic Tele beauty with modern technology hidden beneath it. Solid and single-cut alder body, bolt-on maple neck and 22-fret fingerboard (players can choose between maple or rosewood) form the chassis. The neck comes with a compound "C to D" profile, while the fingerboard has the compound 9.50"-14" radius. medium jumbo frets, 1.685" nut and dot inlays are also featured on the fingerboard. A pair of 4th Generation Noiseless Single-Coil pickups comes with a slightly modified Telecaster controls unit (master volume knob has the modern S-1 switch built in). Modern string-through Tele bridge and Fender tuners complete the specs list of this feisty rocker. This Elite Tele is made for players who value classic looks and modern performance. It covers all the styles and genres a traditional Tele would, plus many of the modern and popular styles.
