The American Special series caters to players who are looking for a "Made in USA" Fender but can`t afford a Standard, Professional, or Elite model. Being closest to the "MIM" (Made in Mexico" range, American Special series shares some specs with them. American Special Stratocaster HSS (2018) is one of the best examples of a quality axe made at a low price. It comes with a solid and double-cut alder body w/3-ply mint green pickguard on top, standard four-bolt neck joint, Atomic humbucker (bridge position), and Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickups (middle, neck). The color palette includes Fiesta Red, 3-Color Sunburst, Black, and Olympic White. Other important features include a maple neck w/modern C profile, a 22-fret fingerboard (maple or pau ferro), vintage-style tremolo bridge, and sealed tuners.
