Ever since its introduction into the Fender catalog, the main mission of the series was to satisfy the contemporary player and offer modern, yet distinct Fender tone, quality construction and superior playability at a reasonable price. Standard series or Mex, as it`s known among the Fender lovers (most of the regular Standard series was and still is made in Fender`s Mexican-based factories) has predictability among its qualities, as players know exactly what to count on when buying a model from this series. Mexican-made Strats have, in particular, garnered a cult following among the players who like their Strats with a bit raw and hotter-than-American tone. For 2015, an entirely new lineup of Standards is being introduced and Standard Stratocaster HSH is one of the models featured. Solid and flat alder body forms the traditional Stratocaster base with the bolt-on maple neck (not just Strat, pretty much all models in Fender catalog are based on the pairing of alder bodies and maple necks). Two-point synchronized tremolo bridge is one of the hallmark Strat features (Strat is the model responsible for the popularization of the string-through tremolo bridges and was the main inspiration for the popular Floyd Rose double locking system). Set of three Blacktop pickups (zebra-coiled, arranged in H/S/H pattern) is equipped with a standard set of controls, plus a push/pull switch for coil-splitting). Maple neck rocks the modern C profile in the back (satin urethane finish) and a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Fender`s sealed tuners on the headstock wrap up the specs list.
