AK-1974 is a series of exclusive jazz guitars made by Framus, Germany`s premier electric guitar brand. Framus has long tradition in the field of jazz guitars and a tremendous reputation. Their guitars are played by some of the world`s most acclaimed musicians and Framus also has a wide and devoted fan base. AK-1974 series has been made up of only one model up 'till now, but for 2013 it is joined by a new AK-1974 S model. The S is very similar to the standard 1974 and it comes with a classic single-cut body with vintage styling. It features flamed mahogany back and sides with flamed maple sound board on top. Body of this model is decorated with multi-ply binding and high gloss finish. Vintage Sunburst is the only color scheme available for this model. Bridge section is a standard one and it`s made up of tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back. Seymour Duncan humbuckers feature passive electronics and basic controls unit with a six-way rotary switch. Mahogany neck features through-body contour and it i topped with a 24-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Sperzel tuners and 25-1/2" scale complete the specs list.
