Monterey models come and are placed in a special category of the market. They are built for players who want a super-charged soloist-like model, but want to keep the contours of their guitar similar to the original strat. The body of this Monterey is made of swamp ash. It features no top wood covers, bindings or pickguards, for the top is covered with a custom graphic which makes Monterey recognizable wherever it appears. The bridge is a tremolo with string-through construction. Pickups on this model are supplied by Seymour Duncan and they are controlled through master volume, master tone and five-position blade switch. Maple neck is bolted-in and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 22 jumbo sized frets and white dot position inlays complete the fingerboard.
