1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is the latest Gibson Custom reincarnation of the most legendary among all Les Paul models ever - the legendary 1959 Les Paul Standard. In order to satisfy the widest possible range of the 1959 LP fans, Gibson offers a stunning range of twelve color options. Six of them feature the characteristic VOS treatment, while the others have the standard nitrocellulose gloss finish. Bourbon Burst, Faded Tobacco, Iced Tea, Lemon Burst, Sunrise Tea Burst and Washed Cherry Burst comprise the huge palette. All twelve versions, however, feature the same set of nickel-plated hardware and creme binding around the top and fingerboard. Body of this outstanding LP is made of two pieces of mahogany without the contemporary standard system of weight relief chambers. Fully solid and pretty heavy mahogany body features a top class flamed maple cap on top, as well as a vintage-style set in neck joint. Bridge section on the top is fit with a classic tune-o-matic/stoptail combo with nickel plating and traditional top-load construction. A pair of Custom Bucker pickups is installed in the front. These two bad boys, in cooperation with historically accurate body and neck, recreate the 1959 LP tone down to the smallest detail. Warmth, complexity and the stunning range are the strong points of these pickups. Also, thanks to the non-chambered body, sustain coming out of these pickups is unbelievable. Classic set of controls with 500k potentiometers is installed along with the pickups. One-piece mahogany neck rocks the historically accurate profile in the back and a one-piece rosewood fingerboard on the top. Vintage-style Kluson tuners installed on the headstock wrap up the specs list. All of the twelve color options of the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue cost $6,499.
