1959 Les Paul Gabby is yet another in what seems to be an endless stream of 1950s and 1959, in particular, reissues and recreations. Officially, the full name of this super exclusive six-string is Collector`s Choice #30 1959 Les Paul Gabby. It is named after it`s special rounded Gabby neck contour. Thus far, Gabby looks like the most serious contender for the "most genuine 1959 Les Paul made after 1959" title with it`s unbelievably faithful recreation of the original 1959 burst, Custom Bucker pickups and surgically precise neck and top contours. Of course, the back and sides of the body fit perfectly into 1959 measurements and the base is made of a single piece of mahogany. Gibson Custom covers it with a two-piece flamed maple top of the highest quality. Creme binding and a removable plastic pickguard grace the top. Two-piece bridge unit is nickel plated and guarantees the ultimate tuning and intonation stability. Custom Bucker pickups in the front are the most precise recreations of the 1959 Les Paul pickups ever created and they come with a classic set of controls. Mahogany neck is fit with a rounded Gabby profile in the back and a bound rosewood fingerboard on the top. 22 medium jumbo frets with trapezoid inlays, 1.6875" wide nylon nut and 12" radius complete the fingerboard. Set of vintage Kluson Reissue tuners wraps the specs list. The MSRP for this jaw-dropping 1959 LP recreation is set at astronomical $9,799. Only three hundred Gabby LPs will be made and the tempo of production will largely be dictated by the availability of qualifying materials. In a nutshell, this is the perfect opportunity for the players who long for a 1959 LP, but can not buy the genuine thing.
