Back in the late 1950s Gibson introduced a brand new concept of semi-hollow bodied guitar. This bridged the gap between solid bodies and fully hollow jazz guitars, bringing the stability of a solid guitar with full sound of a hollow body. ES-335 from 1960 is still one of the most popular and desired ES models, and today is made under the Gibson Custom banner. It comes with a semi-acoustic body made of maple back and sides with a carved maple top. Top is bound in creme and equipped with a pair of "f" holes. Classic '57 humbuckers on this model are controlled with separate volume and tone knobs. Set neck is made of mahogany and it`s fit with '60s contour in the back. It`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
