Collector`s Choice™ #29 Tamio Okuda 1959 Les Paul is a recreation of a fifty six year old guitar, a guitar that`s several years older than its owner. Okuda Tamio, a legend of the Japanese rock scene is known around the world as one of the most avid connoisseurs and collectors of LP guitars, as well as one of the key figures of the Japanese rock scene. For 2015, Mr Okuda and Gibson have joined forces to create one of the most successful replications in history of electric guitar, the gorgeous Collector`s Choice™ #29 Tamio Okuda 1959 Les Paul. 29th Collector`s Choice model kicks off with a lightweight mahogany body and a two-piece plain maple top. The base is made of a single piece of wood, has no weight relief, and weighs around 6.5 lbs on average. Top is bound in creme and comes in two variants - VOS Sunburst and Aged Sunburst. Both feature nickel hardware and nitrocellulose finish. Mr Okuda has selected Gibson`s `57 Classic humbuckers which are the perfect fit for this marvelous six-string. The pickups bring out the warmth and depth of mahogany (body and neck), as well as the snap and definition of the maple top. Classic Bumblebee pot caps blend nicely with the slightly faded color scheme. One-piece mahogany neck is also there. It comes with a standard `59 profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The MSRP for this model is set at $6,799.
