Gibson Custom CS7 50s (1957) Style Les Paul Goldtop
Les Paul Electric Guitars by Gibson Custom
Les Paul Electric Guitars by Gibson Custom
The original 1957 Goldtop LP is one of ten most popular and most desirable guitars ever made. This status is owed to a number of facts. First of all, the beauty of this six-string was enchanting, mesmerizing. It was a timeless piece of industrial design, poised with class and elegance. Second, there was the indescribable tone of the original PAF humbuckers created by Seth Lover (it is precisely the iconic 1967 Goldtop and Custom LP which secured the humbucker as the leading pickups choice around the guitar industry in the late fifties). Almost sixty years later, Gibson Custom remakes the classic Goldie. natural color of the back and sides, creme binding around the golden top is still as seductive, as it was back in 1957. 2015 Goldtop comes with a one-piece mahogany body (a feat saved for only the most exclusive guitars with Gibson badge) and a three-piece plain maple top. Top curve is sculpted to the exact 1957 Goldtop measurements. Two-piece bridge unit is fronted by a pair of brand new Custom Bucker pickups with a classic controls unit (knobs and the pickup switch look the same as the original ones). White pickguard is also there, and it can be removed in case the player prefers the barren top look. One-piece mahogany neck is glued to the body, and it features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Pearl trap inlays, 1-11/16" nylon nut and 12" radius are the same as the original ones. To top it all off, Gibson throws in a set of Kluson reissue tuners. The MSRP is set at pretty high $5,199.
