Mahogany Explorer is a vintage-styled guitar and it`s based on early incarnations of this legendary Gibson. Gibson Custom pays a tribute to the Explorers produced in the first years and those made in the 1970s, when Explorer was revived. Body of this one is made of mahogany. It`s solid, flat and has no binding around the edges. There`s only the classic white pickguard covering the cutaway and bordering with the pickups. bridge section on this one is made up of a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and the stoptail bar in the back. Pickups installed on this one are active humbuckers and they`re controlled with Explorer`s standard set of knobs. Mahogany neck is set-in and it`s topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
